Adam Rose is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist living in Pittsburgh, PA. He avoids categorization, simply playing what he loves, and his compositions reflect a wide variety of influences in which he has immersed himself. His musicianship shines most notably through his guitar playing, as he is an experienced guitarist of nearly three decades. Whether delicately fingerpicking his classical guitar, tapping harmonics and percussive sounds out of his steel string, or ripping a dynamic solo on the electric, his playing is sure to reach you at an emotional level, as above all, he displays with exceptional musicality.

In addition to guitar, he plays a number of other instruments, including drum kit, hand drums of all types, piano, bass guitar, upright bass, violin, cello, flutes of various kinds, didgeridoo, trumpet, and a little kazoo as well.  He combines real instruments with his knowledge of programming and engineering to create soundscapes which range from quirky to ethereal.  There are no rules in his universe of creativity, as he will use any idea which appeals to him, regardless of convention.

His performance experience includes many venues and ensembles, from solo to orchestra, from weddings to theater pits, from power trio to 11-piece funk band, from house parties to large festivals.  One of his favorite memories was spending the afternoon hanging out with Medeski, Martin, and Wood, in their tent at a festival in Kansas.

After a period of illness in which he contracted chronic lyme disease, he took a hiatus from music, but has returned with a flow of creativity which is both rare and beautiful to behold, working through symptoms he refers to as ‘hellacious’ and sometimes debilitating.   Despite the difficulty, he has pushed through the pain and is currently hard at work recording his back log of songs.  He plans to release several new albums in the next few years, including three singer-songwriter albums.

Keep an eye out for Adam Rose, as he is fond of taking his hand drums out in public and creating what he thinks of as a ‘bit of order, a dash of harmony is a sea of chaos’.  If he throws you a shaker, oblige him by grooving along for a few moments.  As of now, he is temporarily under the radar, but aspires to have his music be heard around the world.  Be prepared to be amused, perplexed, moved, and deeply touched by the music of this unique artist, whom we can expect greatness from in the years to come.
